BS EN ISO 22074-7:2024 — Railway infrastructure. Rail fastening systems. Test method for clamping force and uplift stiffness. This British adoption reproduces the EN ISO text which is identical to ISO 22074-7:2021 and specifies a laboratory procedure to determine the clamping force exerted by a fastening system on the rail foot and, where required, the uplift stiffness of a complete fastening assembly.
Abstract
This standard defines the test setup, specimen preparation, loading and measurement procedures used to measure the force required to separate the rail foot from its immediate support (clamping force) and to determine the uplift stiffness of rail fastening systems. It applies to systems with and without baseplates and for surface-mounted and ballastless track elements; it does not apply to embedded rail systems or fastening systems that do not act on the rail foot.
