Abstract

IEC TR 61998:2015 (edition 2.0) provides models and an overarching framework to support the standardization of multimedia technology. Prepared as a result of the IEC PACT report, the technical report reworks the original 1999 edition into a shorter, technology‑neutral model that focuses on data usage and communication, system and user interfaces, interchange and distribution, and management/measurement aspects relevant to multimedia systems. Informative annexes from the previous edition were removed where their roles had become obsolete.
